Travian Building Queue Automation: The Complete Guide

How the automated building queue actually decides what to build next, how multi-village scaling works, and what the granary-overflow NPC trading does (and doesn't do).

An idle construction queue is lost growth — every hour a build slot sits empty is an hour your village didn't get stronger. Here's how Pilot Trav's building automation actually works.

How the Queue Decides What to Build

You set the priorities once: resource fields first, a specific building order, or a mix of both. From then on, the bot checks each village on every pass and, the moment a build slot is free, queues the next item from your priority list. It doesn't make strategic decisions for you — it executes the plan you set, continuously, instead of only when you happen to be logged in.

Running It Across Multiple Villages

Each village gets its own queue and its own priority settings — they're not shared. The bot cycles through every village you own on every pass, so a 10-village empire doesn't need 10x the manual attention; it just needs the priorities set once per village.

Granary-Overflow NPC Trading

This is worth explaining precisely, because it's easy to overstate: auto-NPC trading is not connected to the building queue. It's a separate check that watches each village's granary fill percentage. When fill crosses a threshold you set (90% by default), the bot trades the excess crop through the marketplace NPC merchant so stored crop doesn't cap out and go to waste while you're away.

It does not detect "this upgrade needs 200 more lumber" and proactively trade for it — that's a common assumption worth correcting. What it actually solves is simpler and just as useful: crop overflow from idle production.

Academy Research Automation

Research queues follow the same logic as the building queue: set your research order once, and the bot queues the next item automatically whenever a research slot opens — mirroring how Smithy and Armoury upgrades already work.

A Realistic Setup

PriorityExample
Early gameResource fields to level 5 before any infrastructure
Mid gameWarehouse/granary upgrades ahead of population-driving buildings
OngoingAuto-NPC at 85–90% granary fill, Academy research queued in parallel

Combine this with troop training automation so resources aren't just accumulating — they're being spent on both buildings and an army at the same time.
