Travian Unit Attack and Defense Values by Tribe: Offensive vs Defensive Troops Table
Travian unit attack and defense values by tribe, with full offensive, infantry-defense and cavalry-defense tables.
What are Travian unit attack and defense values by tribe?
Travian unit attack and defense values by tribe show what each troop contributes against infantry and cavalry, alongside its crop upkeep. We use the table to compare roles, not to replace a battle calculation. Defender numbers matter only against the unit types actually arriving, and upkeep still limits what a village can support.
What are the attack and defense values for every unit?
These are base values for Travian: Legends units. Actual travel time depends on server speed plus hero and Tournament Square bonuses. Pilot Trav uses public static unit tables from kirilloid, cross-checked against live server pages.

Which units are offensive and which defensive?
Offensive units are generally the rows selected for their attack value relative to crop and training cost. Defensive units are selected for their defense against the likely attacking type, either infantry or cavalry. A high number in one defense column does not automatically protect well against the other, so we read both columns before training a response.
Siege and scouting units have specialized roles that can make their attack or defense values look unusual in a simple comparison. We do not judge a unit solely by its largest number. Its speed, carrying role, building requirements and the task at hand matter too.
Which units give the best defense per crop?
From the displayed values, the best listed infantry-defense-per-crop picks are Praetorian for Romans, Paladin for Teutons, Phalanx for Gauls, Anhur Guard for Egyptians, Mercenary for Huns, Shieldsman for Spartans, and Shield Maiden for Vikings. The best cavalry-defense-per-crop picks are Legionnaire, Spearman, Haeduan, Resheph Chariot, Mercenary, Elpida Rider, and Huskarl Rider respectively.
These are derived ratios from defense divided by upkeep, not a recommendation to train only one unit. The likely attacker, resources, training buildings and time available may make a different mix more useful.
Which units give the best attack per crop?
Using attack divided by upkeep, the highest listed attack-per-crop units are Equites Caesaris for Romans, Axeman for Teutons, Swordsman for Gauls, Khopesh Warrior for Egyptians, a tie between Steppe Rider and Marauder for Huns, Twinsteel Therion for Spartans, and Valkyrie's Blessing for Vikings. This is a crop-efficiency view only; it does not include training cost or speed.
We use this kind of ratio to ask a better question: can this village feed the force we want after it is trained? A powerful queue that causes persistent negative crop may be less useful than a smaller force that is ready when needed.
How do you read these numbers for farming and defending?
For farming, begin with the target report, carrying role, speed and likely resistance. For defense, identify whether the threat is infantry or cavalry before comparing the corresponding column.
Do not assume a single row solves every battle. Travian combat includes composition and other in-game factors, so use this table for planning and check the current situation in-game before committing troops. The best troops by tribe guide gives practical role context.
How can defense automation help without making promises?
An alert can give us time to inspect an incoming attack and decide manually what to do. Pilot Trav's defense bot focuses on incoming-attack detection and alerts; it does not make a battle outcome certain. No automation tool is risk-free.
See security information and the Travian bot overview before using automation on an account where a loss would matter.
What should we compare before training?
Compare the role, relevant column, upkeep, cost, speed and current resource balance. The table makes trade-offs clearer, but it cannot choose the objective for us.
FAQ
Is the highest attack value always the best offensive troop?
No. It ignores crop upkeep, training cost, speed and the rest of the army. Attack per crop helps comparison, but the best choice depends on the role, resources and time available.
Should I use infantry defense against cavalry?
Compare the cavalry-defense column when the incoming force is cavalry and the infantry-defense column when it is infantry. A unit can be strong in one category and weaker in the other, so a balanced response starts with identifying the threat.
Do these values predict battle losses exactly?
No. They are base unit values for comparison. Composition and other in-game combat factors affect the outcome. Check the current situation in-game and use a battle calculation where appropriate before committing troops.
